😳We have more up-to-date information to share with you. Please excuse us while we update our pages.
Subject Leader: Mr Penberthy

At Meadlands we love PE and sport and we have achieved The Gold Award for Sport, PE & Healthy Living for three years running! We recognise the many benefits of PE and sport, and are dedicated to promoting healthy and active lifestyles. We have worked hard to develop a broad and varied PE curriculum (see below), and ensure all pupils from KS1 and KS2 receive two hours of quality PE teaching a week: one from the class teacher and one from our PE coach Mr Penberthy. Pupils in the Early Years are also provided with regular opportunities to develop physical and social skills through a wide range of physical activities and games. Through the strong curriculum, as well as a wide variety of excellent clubs provided by specialist coaches, we hope to develop a love of physical activity and sport in all our students, and through this encourage life-long participation in sport. With a huge field, football pitch, basketball pitch, tennis tables and specialist teaching, pupils thrive in sport at Meadlands. The school has developed strong links with local sports teams and we take part in a variety of inter-school and Borough-wide Competitions, as well as welcoming special visitors.

Completing a whole school work out session with Joe Wicks, The Body Coach, was a lot of fun!

For more regular sports updates and photos please see our twitter page @MeadlandsSch

Meadlands has once again achieved the Gold School Games Mark, recognising its outstanding provision in Sport. The School Games Mark is a government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and allowing schools to evaluate their provision.  We have also achieved bronze Healthy Schools status.

Information for Parents

Please see below for details of what we teach and when we teach it in PE by clicking on to the Curriculum Map link.

PE days are as follows, these are the days when pupils are expected to come into school wearing their PE kit.

Each term Mr Penberthy and the Sport Junior Leaders share the successes and celebrations of PE and Sports in a newsletter, see below for the most recent editions:
