Welcome to the Nursery Bee Hummingbirds Class. On this page you will find the following information:
Curriculum for the year
End of year objectives (what the children should know by the end of the year)
In Hummingbird Class we’re the smallest around,
But don’t let that fool you for we make the loudest sound!
Learning through play is what we like to do,
With carpet sessions, small group work and boosters thrown in too.
Miss Stevens sets up activities to help us learn more,
Asking questions and explaining, we will learn it for sure.
Mrs Nicholas and Mrs Bradley help us out too,
And in the afternoons and our learning shows through.
We learn numbers and sounds and making up songs,
Through topics like dinosaurs, pirates and minibeasts – we’d stay all day long!
Sessions are morning or afternoon, 3 hours each.
With a chance to do all day – there’s so much to teach!
We look at social, emotional, personal and speaking skills
Add in maths and literacy it just gives us thrills.
So we hope that you’d like to come to Hummingbird Class
Have a look through our page it’s truly first-class!

Part 4: Blended Learning
If your child is absent but waiting for a coronavirus test result to return to school or having to self isolate due to symptomatic household members, then they can access school work on their class page right here! Work will be uploaded every Monday morning. Children are expected to follow the timetable and complete the lessons in their Meadlands-at-Home books, returning these to their class teacher, once they are able to return to school.
If the class or school is having to isolate we will be in touch with you regarding how to access the Google Classroom learning.
For more information, please refer to our Blended Learning Policy.
Parents & carers, if your child is isolating and completing work from home, the following websites can supplement the work we have provided. These are easy to access and navigate and you will find video lessons and video clips which support the learning that the teachers have provided:
