Dear parents and carers,
I am writing initially to give you as much notice as possible ahead of the planned National teacher Strike on Thursday 2nd March, so that you can make arrangements if your child’s class is not open to them.
As shared previously, teachers are not obliged to inform their Headteacher of their plans to strike. It is therefore impossible to know until the morning of each strike day whether the class will have a teacher. As such, it is vital that parents plan for alternative childcare. Should the class teacher plan to attend school an alert will be sent to parents as soon as possible.
Currently Meadlands will only be open for:
Year 6
Year 2 - the Kew Gardens trip will go ahead on this day. Please make payment on parentmail if you haven't already done so.
Reception
Please note this information is correct as of Wednesday 22nd February, but teachers have the right to change their mind and engage with strike action.
Provision for vulnerable children where classes are closed
In addition to Year 6, Year 2 and Reception we will continue to support our most vulnerable children and will be open to the following children.
