At Meadlands, our “Work Hard & Be Kind” motto extends to helping others and we support many different charities during the school year.

Every year, pupils elect their main school charity after nominations, shortlisting, presentations and a students’ vote. Our charities this year are  Born Free Foundation and JDRF. In 2018-19, we raised over £500 for Momentum Children's Charity and Battersea Dogs’ Home. However, we also support national events such as Children in Need, Comic Relief and Sports relief. Other good causes we have recently raised money for include the following:

  • Princess Alice Hospice
  • Syrian Refugees
  • Missing People
  • Read for Good
  • Save the Children
  • Foodbanks
  • Shooting Star Hospice

The Junior Leadership Team are heavily involved in organising fundraising events, such as a staff ice bucket challenge, movie nights, Friday playtime biscuit sales, mufti days and summer fair stalls.

On World Book Day the children raised over £100 for a children's charity 'Read For Good'.
We continue to support national charities: Sport Relief, Children in Need and Save the Children and have raised over £800 collectively just this year.
Sport Relief 'Sporting Heroes'
Children in Need - 'Crazy Hair Day'
The children have been keen to support charities in our local area, we contribute to our local Food Bank every Harvest.

We have raised £100 to support funds to buy a new minibus that the local schools and children's clubs can use and we are proud to continue to support our friends at RUILS. Staff compete in running and 'tough mudder' events in support of RUILS and the children have raised further money through events held at school.

Yr3 pupils run and raise money for Shooting Star Children’s Hospice.
