Class Door Competition
“Our class value is Resilience. Our door is covered in balls because we never give up and we always bounce back. I think that we used different sizes of balls because however big the problem is, we always are resilient.” Rosie
“Our class door is all about resilience and bouncing back. Also it’s trying to show never give up, and try, try again.” Archie
In our very first lesson of the year, Rose Parakeets wrote this poem collaboratively.

Curriculum News for Parents
School Trips and Visitors
During their study of the Amazon basin in the Autumn term, Year 4 visited Kew Gardens. They wore their ‘Stop deforestation in the Amazon!’ protest tee-shirts which they had designed.
Museum of London
During the Spring term, Year 4 went to the Museum of London as part of their Roman topic. The children gathered ideas for their own Roman detective story as well as taking part in an artefact handling session. The Museum of Chertsey visited us at school and the children were able to investigate Roman life through more hands-on experience with artefacts.
Nothing stops Year 4 exploring the world:
Year 4 also braved February’s snowstorm to visit the Buddhist temple in Wimbledon.
Year 4 have been so lucky to have many wonderful, inspiring visitors who have shared their knowledge and experiences with us. We have learnt from cartoonists, scientists, RNLI volunteers.
World Book Day 2018
Reading and play-acting are two of the greatest passions in Year 4: so the class threw themselves into World Book Day with enthusiasm.
