Welcome to Year 2 Scarlet Macaws Class!
Hello, we are the Scarlett Macaws! We are very honest, kind and clever too, and we love being in year two! Our school motto is ‘work hard and be kind’ and we do that every day. Our favourite things to do in year two are maths, reading, literacy, science, PE and… everything really! We love learning because it is actually really fun. We have interesting topics like Incredible India, Our Great City of London, and Greenfingers, and we enjoy reading brilliant books linked to our topics to inspire our work. We also love using the amazing Chromebooks for computing and of course, going on school trips. At the end of the year we even go to Legoland to celebrate doing so well in Key Stage One!
We hope you enjoy our news and photos.

Class Door Competition
Class door photo We are the heroes of determination! Determination is one of our school values and one we think is especially important in year two, because it helps us to achieve our best and make great progress, even when learning is a challenge. We decided to design superheroes because they can achieve anything and it reminds us that we can too! We also made a cityscape for the background because we were learning about collage and because we think London is a wonderful city to live in!
Examples of work
We work hard to become incredible, independent readers, writers and learners with beautiful, joined up handwriting in year two and we have achieved amazing things in our work this year. Here are just a few examples from our maths, science, and literacy work…
Fantastic Home Learning
We love learning at home as well as at school! Here are some examples of our super homework. Often we choose an activity linked to what we are reading, but sometimes it is about something special happening at school or in the wider world.
