We have been proudly celebrating the result of our recent Ofsted inspection, which took place at the end of the summer term. Our school received ‘Outstanding’ grades in twelve categories of work, with all other areas graded as ‘Good’.
It is the latest in a long line of successes for us, as this year we have also received four nationally recognised awards, including the Artsmark Gold, and opened the doors of our bright, newly refurbished nursery.
Rob Meakin said: “I am delighted with all of the recent achievements at Meadlands, and that it has been accurately reflected in the outcome of our Ofsted inspection. There are so many positive comments in the report – from the ‘outstanding care, guidance and support’ we give to pupils, through the ‘stimulating teaching’ to the ‘excellent curriculum’. The remarks about our children and staff were most pleasing - they have worked very hard together to achieve this!
“I would like to thank everybody who has enabled us to accomplish this – the children, our staff and governors, parents and community volunteers. The support that the school enjoys from parents, the local authority and the community enables us all to get on with the important job of educating future generations and to achieve the successes we do.”
Cllr Malcolm Eady, Cabinet Member with responsibility for schools on Richmond Council, added: “This is another fine result for Rob and his entire team. This also reflects huge credit, as he has already pointed out, on the pupils themselves and their families whose unstinting support is now seeing Meadlands achieve these fine results.
“In Richmond upon Thames we have the best primary schools in the country – this is confirmed each time the league tables are published. It is because of the excellent standards being set by schools like Meadlands that we continue to hold this position.”
