Meadlands Magazine

Journalism club meet every Monday after school. They have worked hard investigating, interviewing, writing, re-drafting and publishing articles for a school magazine. Led by Chief -Editor Niamh McIntyre the children have worked well as a team with representatives from Year 1 to Year 6. Click on pdf below.

School Houses

At Meadlands we work in teams. The whole school is one big team. The classes are teams. Sometimes we like to mix the classes up and work in House Teams. We have 4 House teams: Bowes Lyon, Burnell, Lovell and Neville.  On being rewarded a house point (which we get for working hard and being kind) the point goes towards our house team. Each week the House Captains collect the points and record them on the shields which you can see in the foyer space of our school.

Each half term the House with the most number of points is given a prize. This might be an afternoon of playing board games or an afternoon of craft or a picnic on the field. At the end of the year the winning house wins the golden trophy. We have weekly house assemblies and termly general knowledge quizzes. We also get to work in our teams during special events, such as Grounds Day and Sports Day.

Here are our team leaders:

Class Ambassadors

We love learning at Meadlands. You are welcome to visit our school and see all of us at work. We might be outside feeding the chickens or climbing the tree house, some of us will be working hard on our times tables, you might find us playing the ukulele or writing a poem. Whatever we are doing you are always welcome to our class and if you do visit we are the Class Ambassadors and we will be delighted to show you around.
