Charity

2018 - 2019

Each year the children select a charity to support.  In the past two years we have raised over £5000 for charities important to our children.  These have included Princess Alice Hospice, Syrian Refugees, NSPCC and Missing People.  We also support national events such as Comic Relief, Sports Relief and Children in Need.  The Junior Leadership Team are heavily involved in organising fundraising events and these have included a staff ice bucket challenge, movie nights, Friday playtime biscuit sale, mufti days and summer fair stalls.

For this year the children have chosen to support many smaller charities. We have lots of incredibly thoughtful, generous children who are the future entrepreneurs! Every half term Mrs McGeoch meets with groups of children to discuss their ideas about how they want to change the world and make a difference to someone else's life. This year a group of 5 boys in Year 4 organised a football match between children and parents, raising over £100 for cancer research.
On World Book Day the children raised over £100 for a children's charity 'Read For Good'.

We have raised £100 to support funds to buy a new minibus that the local schools and children's clubs can use and we are proud to continue to support our friends at RUILS. This year Mrs McGeoch and Mrs Colclough completed the 'Tough Mudder' race and the 'London Half Marathon' in support of RUILS and the children have raised further money through events held at school.
